The "Reader Cadets Fencer Diaries" 2010
On the 21st of February 8 Cadets from the Bexley Club had a competition and came out triumphant with 4 bronze medals occupied by Heather, Anna, Ida, Jamie. The rest of us put up a valiant fight but sadly got defeated, even though we were defeated some of the cadets for example Elizabeth did well, her tactics and speed were incomparable. We were only able to get these medals thanks to Karen, Owen, Matt!!

My First Solo Epee Comp.
On the 21st of February most of the Reader Cadets had their first solo competition; this was my second however and knew what was coming (kind of). Me, being lucky, only had to fence three other people. I came joint third -which is literally the same as last place- and was quite pleased with myself, until my coach Matt told me I was one point from being in the final (where I would have probably have won). This made me slightly annoyed with myself. After the reward ‘’ceremony’’ I was told by the winning fencer (who I was knocked out by) that I had been the hardest to fence and that I had a good coach. This really made my day and probably Matt’s too. Overall I think we had a great day and really enjoyed it. Well done to everyone else- especially the ones that won medals.
