The Bexley Fencing Club Cadets Scheme covers the under sixteen age group.
The Club seeks to introduce fencing to as wide a range as possible and to facilitate and develop fencing in the Bexley area.

With the wide range of equipment available in the sport, fencing is possible from the age of six and upwards although the Cadets will focus on the ten to fifteen year range.

Coaching and Courses.

With help from the Bexley School Sports Partnership it has been possible to begin our BFC Cadets Scheme. The group runs on Saturday mornings and will eventually integrate the Cadets into the club's Monday and Thursday evenings.
The Cadets Scheme will generally follow the school terms with ten-week courses over the Autumn, Winter and Spring. The Scheme will start with a beginners class and then to an improvers class to an intermediate level.

The next course has already begun, but feel free to register your interest.

The beginners class is for those new to fencing and the course will include all kit and instructions covering all of the basic techniques required to be able to fence.

The improvers class will build on the beginners class and introduce additional techniques. Fencing kit will be required at this stage and this can be purchased at a discounted cost.

As well as working to fundemental principles the intermediate class will bring the Cadets to a level where they can, if they wish to, compete in events such as the Leon Paul Junior Series and the London Youth Games.

Covering an age range from 10-16 requires a large outlay for equipment and there may be some restrictions in age due to the size of kit available. Please check. If you are interested in this course then please contact the Club Secretary for full details

Cadet Costs.

The cost for the Cadets is £55.00 per term, payable by Bank Transfer, Standing Order or Cheque before the beginning of each term. Unfortunately spaces are limited so the Cadets Scheme will run on a strictly first-come first-served basis.
