In 2009 for the first time in many years, Bexley fencing club ran an open epee competition. Called the Len Camin Open in memory of one of the founding members of the club, Len Camin who died in 2006. Len is fondly remembered by many members at the club, and will be remembered for his ‘interesting kit held together with a wish and prayer’ as he showed many of us that he had not forgotten how to fence! More information about Len can be found in our history section. We presented a trophy in his name to the inaugural winner of the mens Epee Dudley Tredger.
The women competed for the Paul Reader Trophy, given in memory of Paul Reader, who sadly died in 2008. Paul was a keen fencer and remains sadly missed. This website is his work and we continue to maintain it in his memory. The eventual winner of that trophy was Katie Dolan.
Our first competition was held at Acacia Hall in Dartford on Saturday 11 July 2009. Detail of the next open can be found here on the home page..
Blades Brand supplied a stall on the day; Should you need to, please contact them via their Blades Brand website.
